Chapter 30. Meeting Helena

Ava had not made a move on Jennifer but she refused to let her guard down.

Sometime during the morning, the heavy drapes had been moved to let in some early sunlight. Jennifer wasn't sure what part of the building they were in but from the remembered glimpses she had not seen any way the sun could have shone in.

Wincing at the brightness, she discovered she had a very full bladder and needed to pee.

Ava appeared before her looking refreshed, in his black silk vest, and slacks, his dark hair slicked back, his brown eyes coolly regarding her.

“I have to pee!” were the first words out of her mouth.

Ava shrewdly laughed, “This means what to me?”

“If you do not want me to squat right here, and go then you should do something about this.”

“I don't think you would, you're too much of a lady for that!”

“Then you have no idea what I am truly capable of!”

Jennifer squatted biting her lip, her bladder so full she was cramping. She would never go through with it but he didn't know that!

Sighing, Ava clapped, and several women from his harem appeared before him bowing. He spoke in his native tongue, no doubt giving them orders, and glanced her way in disgust.

The women approached Jennifer shaking their heads, and glaring at her. They wore beautiful veils, the edges lined in rhinestone. Each one grabbed an arm of hers and led her out the door down to another quarter in a far end. Armed guards constantly monitored them, but she doubted they did when company wasn't around.

Recognizing the exquisite room for the harem they led her over to a couple of bathroom stalls.

Jennifer had never been so grateful for a bathroom in all her life than now. Once she finished, she was ushered over to the bathing pool, while the women chattered to each other quickly, attempting to communicate to her. She was rapidly undressed and shoved into the pool filled with rose petals and other oils. She swore they scrubbed almost every inch of her. Her hair must have really caused them trouble, for after washing, and conditioning, there was silence then a dismayed exclamation. One of the girls went and retrieved, whom she guessed was a headmistress, who had curly hair as well. They brought her to Jennifer, all chattering in rapid succession.

“My name is Helena. I understand you will be joining our family, yes?”

Helena must have been Italian. Her mass of gorgeous ash brown curls were pulled back into a couple of ivory clips. Her amber eyes filled in her heart shaped face. She was small and slender, wore turquoise, lace styled tee-shirt that flowed over her stretch pants. Turquoise heels, something was fishy.

“How come you don't have to wear the robes the other girls are?”

“My family name gives me certain rights. Let me ask you, how come you don't want to marry Ava? Is he not your type?”

By now she had Jennifer dressed in a dark, violet silk shirt that had slits in the top of each sleeve, matching drawstring slacks, black pumps.
